Oh Becky! So good to “see” you. I laughed at your choice of recipe. In our family we call this “Pancake Non Pareil” because, I think, that’s how Craig Claiborne described David Eyre’s pancake w-a-a-a-y back in 1966 in his NYT column. It is, I believe, the second most popular recipe the NYT has printed! We serve ours with Canadian Dark Maple Syrup.

I’m looking forward to seeing Melissa Clark speak at the TX book festival this weekend. Sounds like a great book and like one I need to add to the shelf. I’m going to need to know more about the peach rum syrup. Sounds fantastic with this pancake!

I was just paging through this book at Barnes and Noble a few nights ago, and like you, at first I was disappointed about no photos but the stories really are inviting. I’m thinking about picking it up. I had my eye on the thyme garlic roasted chicken with crispy croutons. There’s also some appetizing lamb recipes in the book.
