ah, yes, the space conundrum! I know too well. I’m doing square foot gardening this year, and they say you can fit 9 beans in a square foot. So I put 11 in. I can’t help it… I’ve got about 8 varieties in my yard, all heirloom of course. Good luck with the beans and the rest of the veggies. Glad you found the site!

I’m so glad I found your site–you mix good recipes with good ingredients, the kind that you grow yourself, and you add a great dose of humor! I love it.

In this year’s garden, I have 5 varieties of heirloom beans growing, but I’m itching to try even more. Ah, to have more room. Don’t we all wish that?

A lunchtime discovery: the soup goes wonderfully well with leftover mesquite cornbread from last week’s recipe. Another desecration of the rules I guess, since “vichyssoise” and “cornbread” were surely never meant to sit in the same sentence.

Now, time to close my office door so I can lick the soup bowl…

The vichy, eh, soup looks good. It’s on my list of things to make, as soon as I can get fresh organic free-range leeks and cruelty-free potatoes.

You know you’re a food snob when you sniff and swirl your Gatorade before taking a sip.
