Nice blog! The Dilly Beans look awesome.

How very cool, that your CSA farmer grew Chinese Red Meat radishes. In this area (admittedly, not the West Coast) farmers are still warming up to some of the more elusive heirloom veggies.

I used to get them fairly frequently from my CSA. My favorite (and easy) preparation was to peel and julienne them, then toss with a little bit of rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil… yum!

And beets — don’t get me started! :)

Welcome to the site, and thanks for the kind words. Yes, my next recipe(s) will be featuring cucumbers — they are starting to swell up in my garden, and from the looks of things we’ll be eating them for awhile!

My good friend Jill is GF, and so I always try to list whether a recipe is safe for celiacs or not. Sometimes I forget, but now that I know there are at least two gluten abstainers reading, I’ll try to be better about it!

You have a wonderful site with beautiful photos and great information. I’m in a CSA as well and have radishes, greens cilantro, etc. coming out my ears. It’s great to find new recipes and tips on using all these fun ingredients!
In good health,
Melissa

Not an appealing name but it was hard to resist giving them a try. They were pretty good, but mostly I grew them for the novelty. There are a lot of strange things in that catalog.

That is coolly synchronistic! (I’m actually going to meet Deborah Madison next month at the SSE conference — I think I’ll lug up all my bible-sized, beet-juice stained hardcover copies of her books to get her signature).

Which CSA did you join? Spots were really hard to come by this year — they’re all saying they’re booked through 2010 right now.

How interconnected, eh?

We just bought a share in a CSA and our first delivery consisted of beets and radishes, among other yummies. We already ate all of the beets (and their greens) but I’ll keep a closer watch on your pages for recipes now!
