I LOVE THIS POST

when i had a garden once back in the day of having a husband and gardeners to help me, i had super rich soil chock fullo worms. but the beds are ghone and the worms have moved on although when it rains i see them freakin’ everywhere (how they get in my damn house, i will never understand).

i loved especially – the worm/iphone gift. that simon is one helluva classy guy.

by the way, you really are a great writer and i love your blog and i’m adding it to my blog roll now.

Well, you’d know better than me, but… I bet they have gluten. Guess you’ll have to eat the real thing… : ) Thanks for pointing this out — so sorry for the slip!

Nupur – I’ll share! They reproduce pretty fast. When’s your birthday? I’ll deliver a gift bag of them. : )

I love the mix of history, lore, and really good recipes (even though I don’t cook, I just lurk on food sites). I love the pictures, they almost inspire me to walk into my kitchen and pull down a cooking skillet. :)

Mine are the lemon heirloom cucumbers, and they’re small but really sweet and juicy, and very productive.

Happy birthday, by the way! What a fun and original birthday story!

I remember a friend of mine growing an avocado tree indoors in New York…it was about 4-5 feet tall. So maybe your tree could grow indoors until it is reaches the ceiling?
