Hi Becky, I really like, and appreciate your websight on BEAN’S… Being an East Tn. boy , I am a soup Bean, Corn bread Connisoure, throw some stinging Nettle greens, an some RAMP’S in the pot, an you have a meal fit for the finest ,on any contnant in this ol world. Now if you don’t know nothing about #1 Ramps, #2 Stinging Nettle Greens, and good southern yellow corn Bread , let me know… because you can get the word out just about as good as anyone I know.. I’m raising some Hutterite Soup Beans, Some Cherokee Trail of Tears Bean, and some Cherokee October Bean’s this summer , All Heirloom Beans .. I belong to Seed Savers , an outstanding organization for seed saving.. I’m sure you know all about Seed Savers , but if you shouldent ,you certainly should. Becky: Great site. I love your spicy writing and that you include “food history.” I didn’t realize Native Americans in the Southwest ate a diet rich in beans. Got any recipes for brewing bean beer?

Great idea for a blog, Becky! I’ve never heard of most of the heirloom beans you mentioned on the site so far — I definitely need to expand beyond canned kidneys and blacks.

Becky – I love the blog. I am also guilty of produce-atrophy – something I strive to overcome. I am only recently coming around to the merits of beans (having decided as a child I disliked all beans), so I stand to learn a lot from your posts. Keep ‘em coming!
